About

I’m a writer for The Amelia Bulletin Monitor, the weekly newspaper of Amelia County, Virginia.  I’m also a grad student in the Multimedia Journalism program of Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Mass Communications, and a worker bee in the office there.

New York City is my hometown, and I occasionally miss it.   I began my working life as a manager for a firm that produced fillers for newspapers with circulation under 25,000, so it’s ironic that I now work for one.  My next significant job was as a fundraiser for The Boys Choir of Harlem, a job that inspired love, loyalty and frequent exhaustion.  I worked for a couple of other educational non-profits in the city before relocating to Virginia, where I did time as a substitute teacher and a bookseller before arriving at journalism.
